About City Music

City Music is the kind of music store where the people behind the counter
know the business because they’ve lived it. It’s a small, family-run shop, but
there’s a surprising amount packed into the space: new and used instruments,
gear and accessories, a substantial pedal selection, and lesson rooms where
music is being made somewhere in the background.

For more than twenty-five years, City Music has been part of the musical life
of Leominster and the surrounding community. Marc Rines and Nancy Karuzis took
ownership more than twenty-five years ago with a straightforward idea: build a
store where musicians could find good equipment, honest advice, and talk to
people who know their way around an instrument. That approach has remained part
of the business as Marc’s son, Stephen, has joined him in running the store.

Today, City Music offers much more than instrument sales. Customers can
come in for repairs, rentals, accessories, or private lessons taught by
instructors with backgrounds ranging from professional performance and studio
work to formal music education and Broadway. For students, working musicians,
and people who simply enjoy playing, the store has become a longstanding
resource in the Leominster area.

After more than two decades, City Music has found a way to grow without
losing what made the store special in the first place. The sells through its
own websites as well as eBay, Reverb, Amazon, and other marketplaces, sending
instruments and equipment from Leominster to customers across the country. The
online business has grown, but the heart of City Music is still the store
itself, and the people who keep it running.

Thanks for shopping small and supporting our local business. Thank you for making City Music your music store.
